LIAT TO GO CASHLESS IN ST. MAARTEN

ST. JOHN’S, ANTIGUA January 21, 2022 – LIAT will implement cashless transactions at its counters at Princess Juliana International Airport, St. Maarten. The cashless transactions will assist in a smoother operation for passengers and staff and will be effective from January 27th, 2022.

In wake of the COVID -19 pandemic and as the airline rebuilds its network, LIAT has been reviewing its operations with the aim of investing in processes for customer safety and security throughout the customer journey. The cashless transactions will assist customers by reducing wait times, allowing them to easily pay for services as well as to reduce the potential social contact and spread of the coronavirus.

Passengers will now pay for airline services such as baggage and change fees using either a debit or credit card. Passengers can also now call the Reservations Call Centre to pre-book and pay for their bags before coming to the airport. Passengers will receive their receipts electronically thereby reducing the use of paper as LIAT continues to work to be an eco-friendly airline.

The company will be implementing a cashless system across its network in the coming months as it works to reconnect the Caribbean. The airline currently flies to ten destinations across the Caribbean continues to work to be an eco-friendly airline.
