LIAT (1974) Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of: Aircraft Engineer/Avionics

Job Purpose: To maintain company’s aircraft & aircraft equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions and in keeping with the regulations and company’s procedures.

Location: Trinidad

Qualifications & Professional Experience:

  • A valid ECCAA AMT License Avionics or equivalent License acceptable to ECCAA.
  • Group 9.1. 9.2 8.4 12.1 12.2
  • A valid ATR Type Rated Approval with a minimum of 3 years’ experience on ATR Type
  • An Associate Degree/Vocational School Training in the field of Maintenance and Engineering;
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License;

A suitable combination of qualifications and experience that is acceptable to the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To perform and supervise maintenance of the Company’s aircraft or aeronautical product;
  • To perform and produce work in accordance with ECCAA Regulations and Aircraft  Approved Maintenance Manuals;
  • Plan and conduct functional and operational tests on aircraft and aerospace systems and equipment;
  • Analyze project requests and proposals and engineering data to determine feasibility, predictability, cost and production time of aerospace or aeronautical product;
  • Write technical reports, hand over reports and other documentation as required for use by Engineering staff & Management;
  • Review performance reports and documentation from field Engineers and inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine problem;
  • Tow aircraft to hangars, pull aircraft out of hangars for departure

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning,
  • resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people
  • and resources;
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology;
  • Sound knowledge of Maintenance Control Procedures Manual & ECCAA Regulations;
  • Must be able to read and converse fluently in English;
  • Knowledge of computer system

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs;
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time;
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and work platforms;
  • Must be able to kneel, bend and sit.
