LIAT (1974) Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of: Computer Hardware Technician


Job Purpose: To ensure the speedy resolution of service problems reported to the IT Department and maintaining contact with employees as to the progress.
Location: Antigua
Qualification & Professional Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field;
OR
A suitable combination of qualifications and experience acceptable to the Company

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, record and remedy any service problems reported to the IT Department with regards to the IT tools in use by the organization;
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network related problems encountered by end users;
  • Install, certify, troubleshoot network cabling infrastructure including a variety of local area network equipment and software;
  • Maintain contact with employees as to the progress of the solution of their problems; Maintain contact with suppliers of services as to the progress of any work given to them;
  • Install hardware/software and execute light maintenance tasks; Create, maintain and disable user accounts;
  • Provide after hours support as may be required

  • Problem Solving Skills – Ability to locate and identify hardware performance issues & develop long term solutions;
  • Time Management Skills – Ability to set priorities while handling multiple users & issues;
  • Team Collaboration - Ability to collaborate with other members of the team to diagnose & resolve computer issues;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;

LIAT (1974) Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of: Helpdesk & ICT Support

Job Purpose: To provide first level of support to employees by receiving incoming IT support requests, scoping, documenting and providing solutions or routing requests to appropriate IT Specialists.

Location: Antigua

Qualification & Professional Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; Experience in AS/400 or I Series;

One (1) – Two (2) years’ experience in a similar field

OR
A suitable combination of qualifications and experience acceptable to the Company


Key Responsibilities:

  • Man the helpdesk, log, prioritize and assign all calls and/or email requests reporting technical problems in the IT Helpdesk Software;
  • Troubleshoot and assist with resolution of hardware and software related problems encountered by end users;
  • Proactively follow up with reported issues to ensure that clients receive the highest level of service possible;
  • Prepare reports of issues logged and their resolution, analyzing information and identifying trends;
  • Track expenditure on IT maintenance and capital expenditure on IT systems against budget;
  • Prepare the backups for the end of each working day


Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge of hardware and operating systems and windows operations;
  • Ability to troubleshoot applications and hardware in a methodical and rational manner;
  • Ability to understand and evaluate technical information related to the job;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
