LIAT (1974) Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of:

Flight Operations Officer

Job Purpose: Responsible for the completion of all flight release tasks, including assisting the Pilot in Command (PIC) in the planning, preparation and filing of Air Traffic Control and Operational Flight Plans.

Location: Antigua

Qualification & Professional Experience:

Successful completion of an approved Flight Dispatch Training Course; 5 CXC subjects including Mathematics & English

OR
A suitable combination of qualifications and experience acceptable to the Company


Key Responsibilities:

Comply with the procedures, instructions and guidance stipulated in the Company’s General Operations Manual Volume 1; Section 1.3.5.3 – Flight Operations Officers (FOO);


Ensure that flight releases are completed and distributed to stations two (2) hours prior to departure and the Pilot in Charge (PIC) is briefed on check in;


Assist in the scheduling and dispatching of flights;


Ensure that the Aircraft Allocation Board and Day of Operations Board (Geneva) are promptly updated to reflect the current status of aircraft, especially with reference to any restrictions imposed by the Operations Specifications appropriate to intended areas of operation;


Advise stations of any cancellations, flight delays, re-routing & fuel requirements; Ensure that all crew operate within the prescribed Flight and Duty time limitations;

Keep a chronological log of pertinent information, such as crew brief, calls received from flights reporting aircraft defects or unusual circumstances and relay it to Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) and a written handover;


Record and enter the correct information in the Movement Control Log and in the Electronic Flight Following System for all aircraft movements including out, off, on, in times and estimates; number of passengers on board and number of passengers to each destination; fuel uplift and departure fuel and any reasons for delays in the air or on the ground.

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, perform independently and work well with other members of the team; Excellent communication and organizational skills;

Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and a strong desire for success;
