A child under the age of 12 who is visiting Barbados unaccompanied requires a notarised letter from his/her parent or legal guardian stating that permission has been given for the minor to stay with a host/hostess. The full name, the address and telephone number of the host/hostess must be included in the letter.
Please note that no male other than a Father is allowed to receive minors and he must produce proof of paternity. A female occupant of the household is required to meet them.
Children 12 years old but under 16 travelling unaccompanied, must meet the above-mentioned requirement. Those 16 years old but under 18 must have the full name and address of their host, however, no letter is required.
Pets and Service Animals
Pets are defined as dogs, cats and domestic birds. LIAT will accept pets for carriage in the aircraft checked baggage compartment only. Prior notice of at least twenty-four hours must be given to LIAT for the carriage of pets. Transportation of pets require import/export licenses and veterinary clearances
