BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, July 29, 2009 – A meeting of representatives of LIAT Board of Directors, Management and the Leeward Islands Airline Pilots Association (LIALPA) was held at the Barbados Workers Unions headquarters in Bridgetown on Wednesday July 29, 2009.
The Barbados meeting followed an earlier meeting of LIAT Shareholder Prime Ministers with the company’s union representatives in St. Vincent on Monday July 27.
The Barbados meeting agreed on a list of items that would be referred to arbitration for resolution between the two parties in an attempt to reach agreement on outstanding labour and contractual issues and was chaired by LIAT Chairman, Dr. Jean Holder.
