Unofficial Organised Industrial Action Causes Disruption in Service

Barbados, St. Johns/Antigua, 18th December, 2007

LIAT is advising that there will be disruption to its services over the next few days, as a result of what appears to be unofficial organised industrial action by its cabin crew - with a number of its cabin crew having reported sick this morning. If the action continues delays are inevitable as the airline seeks to rectify the problem.

Efforts to contact the Flight Attendant Association have proven to be futile and no reason has as yet been given to the airline for the disruption.

LIAT apologises for any inconvenience these developments may cause to our customers. The airline's Customer service agents will be on hand to answer queries at the LIAT counter at the airports or can be reached, toll free: 1-888-844-5428. Queries out of Antigua should be directed to the toll free contact: 1-268-480-5582.

Note to the editors:
LIAT is owned by regional shareholders, with the major shareholders being the governments of Barbados, Antigua and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
